Devon woman to sue council over unsightly wheelie bin

A woman in Devon has made plans to sue her local council because she believes its bins are lowering the value of her home. The woman, Judie Chisholm, aged 57 of Paignton, has written a letter to her local council, Torbay Council, claiming she will be seeking compensation. The letter sent to the legal department has stated she will be pursuing them for 5,000. This claim has been aired due to decision made by the council to swap her recycling sack with a wheelie bin, in view of Miss Chisholm, this has impacted on the value of her home. Torbay Council has confirmed they have received a letter from a resident surround such a compensation claim and that the letter has been passed to its claim team to consider. Miss Chisholms home has steps leading up to the front door which she claims means the bins have to stay on the street. The letter sent to her local authority has stated that the new has wrecked all kerb appeal in one fell swoop. She also wrote, It would be bad enough if these bins were only on display once day a week, but wheelie bins are having to be stored permanently on pavement where there is no other option. I also strongly object to the area in general being turned from a beautiful tourist attract into a slum like Bin City.
