Tmobile is a telecommunications business



Tmobile is a telecommunications business that was established in 1990, it is a German based business and is part of the Deutsche Telekom AG organisation. The organisation offers telecommunication services in over twenty five different countries. The business employs approximately 36,000 people and intends to increase in size of the next five years.

In the UK the business was previously known as One2One and the company was the first mobile network on the GSM 1800 range. Before One2One was purchased by the Tmobile company the business was operated by Mercury Communications. Tmobile became the new name for the company in 2002 after Deutsche Telekom purchased it in 1999.

Numerous services are offered by the Tmobile business including pay as you go mobile phones and pay monthly contract phones. The business is regarded as one of the main players within the mobile phone industry within the UK. The 3G service which is offered by Tmobile was launched in 2003, this allows super fast internet on a mobile phone.

In 2009 there was an announcement stating that the mobile phone operator Orange would merge with Tmobile. When this merger is complete it will result in the companies becoming the largest mobile phone operator within the UK.
